Emotional Time.....

I don't have any pictures to share in this post. I have been stitching along on Nature's Beauty and it is coming along nicely despite the frogging I keep having to do. I guess my mind is distracted.

In an earlier post I shared with you about the 5K run we held in memory of my youngest daughter back in April. Well, this past weekend we went to her college graduation to receive her diploma awarded to her posthumously. Needless to say it was a bittersweet and difficult time for us. But even within our pain we rejoiced to see her friends graduate from college and start moving on to start their adult lives. We are so grateful that her friends have let us become close to them and love them and rejoice with them! It is a precious gift that they have given us!

Well, this evening at 5:00 pm EDST a group of 12 from her college leave for Gulu, Uganda for two weeks. They go to work with a village there and to watch a water well be dug in that village in memory of my daughter. 'Anna's Well' will be dug in the coming days and will be dedicated on May 24.

I tell you all this not to gain your sympathy but to ask you all for your prayers and thoughts for this group as they travel and work with the people of this village in Gulu. Travel to this part of the world is not without risk as you know so please ask God to keep them safe and bless them in their work.

If you would like to know more about the charity that we worked with to raise funds for this well please go to Sports Outreach Institute. There is a blog for this trip which you can follow to learn more about their day to day travels.

We have been so blessed as a family by the love and support of family and friends over this last year. To know that with memorial donations given at my daughters death and with fundraising projects supported by her friends and her college that enough money was raised to dig three wells in Uganda is such an example of how God uses all things for good is wonderous to see!

May God's blessings be given to you and yours!

You have my prayers for peace and for success in the misson work many are doing.

Some girls from our church earned money for a well in Africa too. Such a worthy project.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your daughter -- I haven't followed your blog long enough to know. It must be so heartwarming to know your daughter's memory is being honored in such wonderful ways. I will definitely send prayers for those going on this trip.

Prayers said for you and your family as well as the students traveling to Uganda. I'm a recent follower to your blog, so I don't know the whole story here, but it sounds like you are dealing with adversity in the best way: by making something positive out of a negative. Good for you!! And you have my admittedly late condolences on the loss of your youngest daughter.

Oh Nancy, I am so sorry. I haven't been reading your blog long enough to know about your loss. You and your family are in my prayers. I am also thinking of & praying for your daughter's friends who are bringing help to an area in honor of your daughter. What a wonderful thing to do. Big hugs to you.
